On February 28th 1924 George Mallory and Sandy Irvine were guests of honour of the Wayfarers’ Club at Liverpool’s Exchange Hall, together with fellow North of England based team members Bentley Beetham, and John Hazard, This was to be Mallory and Irvine’s last engagement in England prior to their departure for Everest.
This rare example of the Meeting’s menu has been signed by all four Principal Guests and by William Wakefieldof the 1922 Expedition. (Sandy Irvine’s signature is under Mallory’s)
